Location: 4600 Innovation Drive, Lincoln, Ne.

Schedule: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, flexible.

This is a Temporary Assignment expected to last 12 months from date of hire with a possibility of extension.
Examples of Work
Responsibilities include: Compiles/analyzes information from the Accounts Receivable system to assist in contacting past due customers, as well as to provide management with status reports. Will also maintain an aging overall Accounts Receivable. Provides Management with status reports on Accounts Receivable and suggest solutions to problems. Will assist in compiling data and reports for cash projections of cash funds.

Reviews budge/appropriation documents to verify expenses are correctly applied to programs. will assist with budget status entries. Will pre-audit accounts payable and accounts receivable batches. Maintains a reconciliation of payments received via credit card. This includes comparing data and verifying that the revenue is accounted for and coded to the correct revenue account.

Works with other parties to reconcile errors. Assists with daily deposits, coding and entering accounts payable and accounts receivable entries, as needed. Monitors and reconciles federal funds. Other duties as necessary.
Qualifications / Requirements
REQUIREMENTS: Post high school coursework or vocational education in accounting, finance, business administration or related field OR experience performing accounting functions including interpreting and analyzing financial data.

PREFERRED: A strong, working knowledge and experience in EXCEL is required. Enterprise-1 experience is preferred.

OTHER: Regular and reliable attendance is expected. Must possess a valid driver’s license and complete approved defensive driving class necessary for the use of state vehicles. If selected for this position, you must meet the U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services employment eligibility requirements by completing an EEV(I-9) Form. The agency does not sponsor H1-B Visas. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of: the principles and practices of accounting theory and double entry accounting concepts and procedures; generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP); accounting systems; the methods of filing and maintaining accounting records; word processing and spreadsheet computer software programs; database management.

Skill in: listening to and understanding information received; gathering and compiling data into spreadsheets and databases; using mathematical methods or formulas to compare and analyze data; developing and applying equations and/or formulas; compiling data from multiple sources into a single, comprehensive document or report.

Ability to: learn and apply the principles and concepts of specific agency programs, regulations and procedures of an accounting system; learn and apply GAAP practices and standards; communicate with agency staff and the public to provide and elicit information; classify accounting transactions, maintain, and reconcile accounts; extract data from established accounts and prepare accounting reports and financial statements; review accounting documents for completeness and conformance with specific requirements and to take the appropriate corrective action when necessary; design reports and financial statements; compute and compile financial data involving the use of addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, and fractions; operate office equipment such as personal computers, scanners, photocopiers and desk calculators.
