Job Description : If you’re an Accountant, we have an exciting opportunity for you within our Accounting Center of Excellence (CoE) – Americas. The key purpose of this position is to provide financial accounting support in accordance with US GAAP and applicable regulatory and statutory requirements, Woodward policies and procedures, and standards of internal control. In addition, work closely with other members of the Accounting CoE to ensure standardized processes, using innovation, automation, and digitalization to build operational consistency and stabilization. Working within the CoE, your accounting focus, or track, will allow you to support all Americas’ entities across this multi-billion-dollar industrial and aerospace manufacturing organization.
What You Will Be Doing
Playing a significant role in the month-end General Ledger close process, including creation, and posting of journal entries, driving achievement of deadlines, while applying general accounting principles to transactions as needed to ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements.
Participates within your track in understanding and performing SOX controls. Understands concepts relating to accounting and controls.
Performing balance sheet reconciliations using advanced reconciliation software tools, supplying supporting detailed data monthly to ensure the accuracy, validity, and completeness of reported account balances. Applying proper disposition to reconciling items promptly or soliciting help in doing so.
Participating in small teams to drive standardization of processes within your specific focus/tracks, while managing multiple priorities, and solving complex process problems through innovation, simplicity, and team involvement.
Maintaining schedules, templates, subsidiary ledgers, worksheets, or other documents on an ongoing basis to ensure relevance, consistency, and accuracy of reported items.
Supporting your track team with supplying ad-hoc and period-end financial analysis.
Participating in special projects as a functional expert.
Supporting internal and external audit requests for areas of responsibility.

What We Are Looking For
Minimum of 3 years related experience. Experience working at a medium to large company preferred
Bachelor’s degree in accounting required. Master’s degree in accounting or MBA desired.
Professional certification e.g. – CPA, CMA, CIMA, ACCA, Chartered Accountant, or equivalent desired.
SAP, Oracle or large to medium sized ERP experience skills preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft O365 suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams) required
Experience with workflow automation, data analytics, and visualization tools desired (e.g., Alteryx, Power Automate, Tableau, Spotfire, and Power BI).
Working knowledge of the COSO internal control framework and a solid understanding of the concepts of control design and operational efficiency
Excellent oral, written, and overall communication skills
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Ability to perform and deliver in areas involving ambiguity
Ability to successfully lead and complete small projects.
