Job Description : Position Purpose:
The primary purpose of this position is to complete the day-to-day accounting functions of Episcopal Retirement Services, Inc. in accordance with current acceptable accounting and reimbursement principles relating to long term care operations, and as may be directed by the Controller.
Essential Functions/Accountabilities:

Monthly
Prepares financial statements for respective business lines in a timely manner.

Prepares and enters journal entries.

Prepares balance sheet G/L reconciliations.

Prepare bank reconciliations.

Monthly
Identifies operating cash needs for each business line including intercompany paybacks.

Monthly
Maintains capital project activity and prepares capital project reports.

Monthly
Responsible for balancing intercompany accounts.

Monthly
Prepares monthly accounting reports for applicable business lines.

Annual
Prepares necessary worksheets and provides assistance to external auditors. Records audit adjustments and reconcile financial statements to audit reports.

Ongoing
Employs methods to streamline routine tasks.

Ongoing
Analyze monthly income statements for variances and provide explanations as needed. Meet with managers to review their operating financial results.

Prepare wire transfers, ACH’s, and R4R deposits.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required.
1 year accounting experience preferred.
Proficient in accounting software: accounting/general ledger systems, an intermediate to advanced user of Microsoft Excel, can learn and adapt to systems quickly.
Open to developing effective leadership skills.
Must be able to work independently with little supervision and able to handle multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
Must be able to read, write, and understand the English language and speak the language in an understandable manner.
Must possess sight/hearing senses, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
Ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions and to accept constructive criticism.
Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and general public.
Must be willing to work harmoniously with other personnel, as well as be willing to handle residents based at whatever behavior or acuity level they are currently functioning.
Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
Must be able to maintain regular attendance.
Must be fully vaccinated with the COVID-19 vaccination.
