We are currently seeking a full-time Commercial Real Estate Accountant to join our Corporate Office team in Bloomington, MN.The ideal candidate is a self-starter who will take initiative to contribute to growth, whether in processes, company excellence, or client services. This is a newly created position within our Accounting Department and is an excellent opportunity for someone wanting to be a key player on our commercial real estate accounting, processes, and systems.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Are you looking for workplace that has an enjoyable work culture in role that will challenge you and provide you with opportunities to make a difference? The Commercial Real Estate Accountant will report directly to the Controller and be the lead Accountant for setting up our Yardi software for commercial real estate accounting along with handling the day-to-day accounting for a portfolio of propertiesRESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Meets accounting financial objectives by preparing monthly financial reports; analyzing variances; and assisting with the month-end and year-end close processes, annual budgets, and audits.Record journal entries, perform bank reconciliations, prepare account reconciliations, and review general ledger detail to ensure accuracyReviews accounting and system reports for completeness and accuracyEstablishes accounting standards for commercial properties including invoice GL coding, CAM reconciliations, tenant improvements, real estate taxes, and utility billbacks.Assists Controller with Yardi commercial property setups including tenant spaces, charge schedules, CAM expense pools, and standardized reporting packages.Regularly supports Site Personnel on ledger questions and adjustmentsAccomplishes accounting and organization goals by completing related results and meeting deadlinesProtects organization’s value by keeping Company information confidentialAssists with on-boarding new properties into the accounting softwarePromotes collaboration and positive, professional work environmentWorks directly with controller on ad hoc projects as assignedQualifications: Minimum 2-year degree in accounting or financeMinimum 2 years of experience with commercial real estate accountingProficient with Yardi and Microsoft OfficeHighly organized, self-motivated, and possess ability to prioritize tasks based on tight deadlines and shift as necessaryPossess a high level of problem solving and analytical skillsPositive can-do attitude with desire to learnCOMPENSATION: Halverson and Blaiser Group, Ltd. provides excellent training and development to support those wanting to grow their careers alongside the company.
