Position Overview: We are seeking a Controller to join our 2022 Management team! The ideal candidate will have at least five years of professional experience involving financial leadership in a company that deals with job costing. This position must demonstrate a detailed work ethic that blends customer satisfaction with business acumen. Additionally, the desired candidate will have a skill set that includes being well-organized, flexibility when confronted with changing business demands, and a pragmatic ability to solve problems.
The Controller works with the leadership team to create, align, and execute the company’s goals, plans, and budgets. This position is responsible for creating and validating reports, establishing budgets using strategic planning goals, and ensuring compliance with finance initiatives for all Company locations. The Controller is responsible for the performance management of all accounting employees and is the main point of contact for the Company President and Corporate Support Team in terms of accounting questions.

Position Details:
Salary: $75k-$100k/annually
Physical Requirements: Ability to sit for extended periods of time, stand, walk and drive for incremental periods of time.
Work Schedule: Hours vary based on seasonal needs, must be flexible

Work Conditions: Office environment
Travel: 10%
Equipment/Tools Used: Office equipment
Primary Responsibilities:
Work in coordination with the president on financial matters related to the business.
Work with the President to set annual budgets and company performance goals.
Develop and implement financial strategies, procedures and business plans needed to enhance company growth.
Create and Manage accurate reporting throughout the business
Report the profitability of the business to the President and Branch Managers
Create strategic solutions to financial problems for the president to review and approve.
Identify and mitigate financial risk and company liability
Work in coordination with the branch managers
Reading and interpreting reports.
Attaining accuracy and integrity with all reporting and software functions
Attaining payroll goals throughout the branch
Maintain consistency with SOP’s throughout the branch in all financial functions
To manage equipment inventory, preventative maintenance, and repairs while ensuring accurate record keeping.
Creating a culture that practices continuous improvement processes
Manage Accounting and Administration
A/R, A/P, Invoicing, Payroll
Ensure purchasing, invoicing, inventory, billing and collections are completed in a timely and accurate manner for the Branches
Maintain required reports to track Commercial Grounds Management, Enhancement, Snow and Design/Build and Sales activities, while ensuring the integrity of data provided to accounting system (Asset time sheets, job orders, job costing, financials)
Promote effective customer relations both directly and indirectly, through proactive communication, fostering resolution to customer needs, and representing the company in a customer-centric way.
Coordinate with the Talent Manager to identify staffing needs based on KPI’s and historical data, in order to manage seasonal headcount.
Participate in interviews, hiring, orientation, training, policies and procedures, performance reviews and terminations, as needed.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
Five years experience as a Controller
Three years’ experience with job costing
Three years’ experience with creating financial reports
Experience managing a P&L
Experience with Microsoft Office
Ability to work overtime and extended hours as determined by seasonal demands.
Preferred Skills:
Ability to educate staff and gain compliance with reporting
Knowledge and Competencies:
