Job Description : East Carolina Pain Consultants (ECPC) is seeking a self-motivated and friendly front-desk administrative assistant for our new pain clinic in Charlotte. This is an exciting time to join our new division and is excellent opportunity for an individual to grow their career with a stable practice. This is a new clinic that will be opening in April. Hours will be part-time for 1-2 weeks maximum, transitioning into a full-time position by April.The front desk assistant is responsible for being the first contact with our patients. The assistant checks patients in and out, answers phone calls, accepts payment, and handles scheduling concerns. The assistant serves as a liaison between the patient and medical staff. The ideal candidate will be great with computers and administrative processes by managing various tasks throughout the day. Since our clinic is new, this candidate must be comfortable with an array of responsibilities involving setting up a clinic.Essential Duties and responsibilities: Answers all incoming calls professionally and with a courteous and friendly attitude; assesses callers needs and directs to appropriate personnelChecks patients in and outVerifies insurance and patient financial responsibilityObtains authorizations for procedures as neededSchedules new patients and return appointments in computer system in accordance with physician and/or office guidelines. Cancels/reschedules appointments according to physician schedule changes; notifies appropriate clinic personnelUtilizes eClinicalWorks Electronic Medical Record System to obtain or document patient informationObtains and enters all authorization and correspondence relating to referrals in patients charts and computerSchedules outpatient appointments/testing and hospital admissions upon requestCollects co-pays or other payments at time of visitAbides by patient confidentiality regulations to protect the patient and clinic/practice and adheres to HIPAA regulationsPrepares correspondence, memos, and forms as requested by supervisorMaintains composure when dealing with difficult situationsOther duties as assignedQualifications and Skills: High school diploma2+ years’ minimum experience in a medical office/clinic setting using EMR, preferably eClinicalWorksExperience obtaining prior authorizationsKnowledge of medical terminology and insurance plansAbility to learn software quickly and operate computer, fax machine, and emailMust be detail oriented and have strong reading/writing skillsJob Type: Full-timeBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceHealth savings accountLife insurancePaid time offVision insuranceSchedule:8 hour shiftMonday to FridayEducation:High school or equivalent (Required)Experience:Front desk: 2 years (Required)Conducting Prior Auth: 1 year (Required)Work Location: One location
