Job Description : Edge (edgemm.com) is seeking a U.S.-based Full Stack Web Developer to join our 100% remote team of creative and technical “unicorns” based in the beautiful, beardy and beer-y (is that a word?) Pacific Northwest.
The core responsibility for this position will be building and styling WordPress websites, typically built from scratch, utilizing Gutenberg blocks, for our credit union, non-profit and other small-to-medium sized business clients all over the US.
This position will be responsible for collaborating with internal and client teams to interpret client needs and apply creative problem solving and technical knowhow to deliver beautiful, user friendly websites that are on brand.
Responsibilities in this role include creating wireframes, designing mockups, installing WordPress plugins, loading content and performing technical optimizations for speed, UX, accessibility and SEO.

Experience turning designs into responsive, mobile-first websites
Expert-level knowledge of custom theming and development for CMS platforms (WordPress a plus)
Strong knowledge of accessibility, SEO, cross-browser consistency, and optimization best practices
Familiarity with Task Runners (npm, Gulp, Webpack, etc)
Experience with Graphic Design software (Sketch, InVision, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite)
Knowledge of basic design principles
Ability to work on several projects at once
Ability to communicate effectively with the internal Edge team, as well as with clients and outside vendors
Knowledge of building custom Gutenberg blocks
Familiarity with Advanced Custom Fields and other popular WordPress plugins
Experience working with Credit Unions or in the Financial Industry

Self-motivated individual with the ability to manage and complete tasks independently

Hours and Location
You’ll be working from home, but, living on the west coast, or being willing to work west coast hours is preferred. Living within an hour from Portland is a huge bonus – we love to hang out as a team, get our families together and enjoy the occasional beer in Zack’s back yard.
40 hours a week with flextime available. Preferred work schedule is M-F between 7am-6pm PST with flexibility as to start-stop times.
Salary & Benefits Package
Everyone at Edge works from a home-based office (and always has, so we’re very well set up for it operationally). This provides incredible flexibility, removes painful commute time and minimizes our collective carbon footprint.
We offer a robust compensation package, with approximately 5 weeks of paid time off starting the first year, as well as other benefits with further tenure.
Full Time (40 hours per week) Benefits include:
80 hours of paid time off, prorated based on start date. Paid time off is not accrual, meaning you don’t have to wait for it to build up in order to use it.
Extra week of paid time off after five years of employment (120 hours per year)
Eligible for a sabbatical (additional 4 consecutive weeks off) after seven years of employment and then every 5 years thereafter
Extra week of paid time off at 8 years of employment (160 hours per year)
Approximately one week paid time off during the week between Christmas and New Years when Edge closes for the holiday break (exact amount of time varies year-to-year based on how dates fall on the calendar with the holidays)
11 paid holidays
40 hours of paid Health & Wellness time per year (to take care of yourself and/or a loved one)
$85 per month phone allowance
Company provided equipment, including a MacBook Pro, monitor(s), keyboard/mouse
$100 office chair stipend (you keep the chair!)
100% company paid medical, Rx (Regence Silver 3000 or Regence Silver HSA 3500) and dental insurance (Principal) for all full-time employees. Optional employee paid vision (VSP) and family benefits offered.
4% Matching 401K. Edge matches 100% of employee contributions up to 4% of salary.
Eligible for bonuses, ranging from $5K-$15K+ per year in annual income.
Total Cash Compensation Range: $60,000 – $85,000+ per year which includes base salary and bonuses combined. Base salary depends on experience.
Eligible for benefits and bonuses after 90 day probationary period.
