Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
Experience working directly with third-party partners.
5 years of experience as a software engineer, developer, or equivalent technical experience.
Experience in web technologies (e.g., HTML, JavaScript, CSS, HTTP, SQL, etc.).
Preferred qualifications:

Experience working with web platform and blogging/writing technical articles.
Experience creating scalable developer content and ability to command the web/mobile application development landscapes.
Experience growing a community of developers and understanding of the open source software ecosystem.
Passion for, and knowledge of design systems, design system frameworks, UI design, and development tools.

Developer Relations (DevRel) Engineers connect with developers at conferences and online, engineer solutions to make integrations easier, and advocate for developers’ interests internally at Google.
In this role, you’ll work cross-functionally with software engineers, product managers, and user experience (UX) teams to improve the web platform and Chrome Developer Tools for UI developers. You’ll write sample code and articles that demonstrate engineering best practices for modern web technologies.
You’ll design and write libraries and tooling that enable developers to take advantage of web platform features. You’ll convey feedback from external developers, review application programming interface (API) designs, and validate new APIs and features. You’ll also interact with our community on social media.
Additional Information

(Colorado only*) Minimum salary of $130,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.

Note: Disclosure as required by sb19-085 (8-5-20) of the minimum salary compensation for this role when being hired into our offices in Colorado.
Responsibilities
Help with testing and building of web APIs and Developer Tools features before they are released.
Lead the design and development of tooling, sample code, and libraries as part of the web ecosystem.
Support the professional development of a team of developer relations engineers and technical writers.
Design and advocate for platform capabilities in anticipation of developer community needs and work with leadership to ensure the needs of developers are being met.
Assist developers in learning key concepts and features of building user interfaces.
