A Web (Drupal) Developer is an IT professional that develops and implements web-based solutions on MDVIP’s Drupal based Acquia platform. The Web (Drupal) Developer is accountable for supporting organizational goals through a deep understanding of customer engagement business processes, web content technologies, applications and data – and ensures that web applications are implemented in the most optimal, reliable, scalable and sustainable way.
As a Web (Drupal) Developer you will provide mentorship and oversight to Jr role. Create, review and approve architectural planning and design documentation, lead both front and backend web development activities as well as the implementation of efficient configuration and deployment management processes for distributed teams.
Responsibilities:
Perform hands on work in Site Building activities –
Create and configure content types with appropriate fields for basic data structures.
Configure display models for building custom form and view modes for core entities.
Create and use taxonomy vocabularies and terms for classification of content.
Configure block types and manage block libraries/layouts.
Build navigation systems via menus.
Create and configure views for building content list pages.
Use configuration management for exporting configurations.
Perform hands on work in Front end development (theming) –
Create a custom theme or sub theme, theming concepts, use Twig syntax.
Build or override Twig templates for defining layout content.
Write template pre-process functions for overriding custom output.
Perform hands on work in Back-end development (coding) –
Write code using core and object-oriented PHP.
Store and retrieve data using code.
Write code using Drupal coding standards.
Analyze site performance issues arising from site configuration or custom code.
Analyze security issues arising from site configuration or custom code.

Qualifications:

Education / Experience / Knowledge:
Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science or similar from four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and related experience in a similar role where one-year related experience equals one year of schooling. Related experience assumes a similar corporate role focused on information technology and web development.
A minimum of five years related experience in a similar role focused on information technology and web development.
Must have experience in both front end and back-end Web Development, such as: writing code using core and object-oriented PHP, developing custom modules, store and retrieve data using code, work with other essential APIs, write code using in-house coding standards, analyze site performance issues arising from site configuration or custom code, and analyze security issues arising from site configuration or custom code.
Must have three years’ experience in version control (Git) configuration management. Experience with continuous integration related deployment activities is required.
Experience in robust testing, coming up with developer unit test plans to ensure adequate quality (e.g., code coverage via testing, scalability and performance engineering/testing), and have experience in technical documentation to support both design activities and training materials for operations team is required.
Computer Proficiency:
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Proficient with Git and Windows Server
Certificates and Licenses:
Acquia or Drupal certification is a plus. If not certified, must successfully receive Drupal certification within 6 months of start date.
