Position : Front-End Web Designer

Job Description : The Front-End Web Designer will work directly with application engineers, project and product managers, and key stakeholders to build front-end web design that will help build their personal web portfolio. Application engineers work with this person while providing technical guidance. The ideal candidate will be enrolled in a front-end web development program. This internship will give them real world experience in the field.

Please note: this is a limited appointment, must not exceed 1,000 hours in a rolling 12 month calendar year.
Department Description
The Department of Medicine (DOM) is the largest department in the School of Medicine (SOM) at UCSF. The DOM has an annual budget of $484M across three sites with over 2,000 employees. The DOM comprises 22% of all UCSF faculty, 26% of the SOM’s faculty, and 20% of the SOM budget. For the past 30 years, the DOM has consistently ranked among the top four departments of medicine in the country, and in the past seven years, the department has been the number one recipient of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) research dollars.
Required Qualifications
Portfolio of successful web designs -can be from professional or academic experiences.Experience with HTML and CSSExperience with the JavaScript programming language, as well as jQuery and React JavaScript libraries
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Bootstrap.js, AngularJS frameworks and AJAX in generalExperience with Blade TemplatesExperience with PHPExperience with LaravelExperience with workflow-oriented applications
