It brings 3D mechanical design into the browser or mobile device, with the collaboration tools of Google Docs and the versioning tools of GitHub. You will be working on a one-of-a-kind 3D collaborative CAD application with cutting edge cloud, web, and mobile technologies.
Your Impact:
Using your UI expertise, you will craft in-browser interfaces that enable users to do their work in an efficient and intuitive way. Use your skills in programming and algorithms to scale these interactions from simple designs to complex ones with thousands of components. As Onshape’s customer base grows, your work will improve how more and more new products are designed and built.
Day-To-Day:
Design and implement new capabilities of Onshape, independently, partnered with a back-end engineer, or as part of a larger project team
Improve the performance and usability of existing functionality
Fix bugs in all parts of the system
Focus on security, performance, robustness, and usability.
Follow best practices like writing unit tests, perform code reviews etc.
Learn and apply new technologies quickly
If you have full-stack experience, there will be plenty of opportunities to use it
Necessary experience:
5+ years experience in building large-scale web applications in Javascript or Typescript.
Passion and excellent eye for building great user experience.
Significant experience working with frameworks like Angular, VueJS, or equivalent
Experience with CSS3 and Less/Sass and usage in large scale applications
Strong foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms and distributed computing.
Experience with Test-Driven Development, Continuous Delivery, Code Reviews and doing things the Agile way
Comfortable with package managers/build systems such as Webpack
Strong advocate for automation testing, experience with frameworks like protractor or equivalent
Extensive experience debugging cross-browser/cross-platform compatibility issues.
Building reusable components and front-end libraries for future use
Basic Qualifications
BS in Computer Science or equivalent software development experience
