LIMS Developer, the role:
As a member of the Quest Diagnostics Bioinformatics team you will work closely with other Bioinformatics developers and laboratory staff to develop and deploy workflows for our laboratory LIMS that enable automated high throughput workflows for our DNA sequencing laboratories.
This professional can work remotely.
Job responsibilities:
Develop workflows for molecular genetics testing and deploy to laboratory informatics systems
Ensure availability, performance, and scalability of workflows
Work closely with bioinformatics engineers and lab and R&D scientists to gather and implement requirements for the automation framework
Support testing requirements
Build and maintain code that interacts with a 3rd party vendor application
To qualify, the ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
B.S. in Bioengineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 3+ years of experience
Familiar with typical workflows and lab automation used for molecular genetics testing in regulated industries using processes managed by laboratory informatics systems, preferably L7 ESP LIMS
Experience in Python and JavaScript for Web Applications and Backend processes
Experience in using version control tools, eg. Gitlab
Demonstrated ability to work with vendor APIs(or file based communication) for integration and development work
Experience supporting and maintaining applications that interact with 3rd party Vendor software.
Familiar with working in a Linux environment
Demonstrated ability to work in a team and communicate effectively with laboratory personal and R&D scientists
Demonstrated ability to innovate
