Job Description : Intersect Digital is seeking a Senior Front-End Web Developer who has solid HTML, CSS and vanilla JavaScript skills to assist with support and maintenance of existing websites.The work consists of content updates, however the occasional webpage redesign and full website build will also be a part of the developer’s workload. Because the sites are hosted in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), experience working with a content management system is a plus.This position is meant for someone who can build complex projects that require a lot of skill and precision. We are seeking candidates with strong demonstrable skills in CSS and vanilla JavaScript. Familiarity with modern JS/CSS frameworks is a nice to have.Our work environment is fast-paced and deadline driven. Business requirements and scopes change frequently. Our team members are typically working on a few different projects at once. We are looking for someone who has strong time management skills, who can work well both independently and with a team of project managers, tech leads and other developers to produce high quality functional output.Strong communication is essential to be successful here. You are able to share your ideas in both a technical and non-technical way, ask for help when you need it, and raise appropriate concerns quickly regarding blockers to project completion.As we are a marketing agency, we have many clients who need to convert their business needs into functional performant web features. Being able to turn a business requirement to a web page, site, or feature will make you a strong candidate for our open position. Agency experience is a plus.The position can be full time salary, contract or contract-to-hire.If you believe you are a good fit, please include a web portfolio of your work or some samples of websites you’ve contributed to along with your resume.Our team is fully remote with the majority of the staff based in the southeast Michigan area.ResponsibilitiesProvide accurate time estimates for dev projects.Implement content updates and feature additions to existing web sites.Handle bug fixes to sites (even if the bugs aren’t yours!)Build fast loading, responsive, cross-browser compatible web pages and sites.Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.Ensure feature updates follow ADA and AODA Accessibility compliance.Optimize existing websites for maximum speed and scalability.Provide solid recommendations for clean, functionally sound HTML, CSS and JavaScript.Work with design tools such as InDesign, InVision, Photoshop, etc. for asset creation, image resizing and site mockups.Communicate immediately with team members and project managers on status updates, deadlines, blockers and changes in scope.Required SkillsMinimum of 6 years experience in web design and developmentVersion Control(Git/SVN) ExperienceExpert at HTML/CSSExpert proficiency in client-side scripting using vanilla JavaScript.Familiarity with Modern JS frameworks (Angular/React)Experience building sites from scratchStrong, effective, mindful communication skills.Ability to work both independently with little direction and as part of a team of developers with different experience levels.Ability to flex and adapt.
