The team this Senior Software Engineer joins will be performing Journey Centric Operations; this includes: 24/7 Problem/Incident Mgmt, Root Cause Analysis (RCA) assessments and governance, functional triage, impact assessments, and Major Launch Event Support (example: Iconic) activities for Account Management Support websites and mobile apps.
About the Job
This is an exciting, hands-on, technical Principle Software Engineering position responsible for providing 24/7 Problem/Incident Mgmt, Root Cause Analysis (RCA) assessments and governance, functional triage, customer impact assessments, and Major Launch Event Support for Consumer Account Management, Support websites and mobile apps.
This position involves driving adoption of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) within the SPT Operations by moving from a traditional Ops reporting and tracking focus to a DevOps focus.
This position will also involve the establishment of an Operations intake model for production defects and issues reported by stakeholders including Business, Product and leadership.
This position will also take part in interfacing with external teams, such as Iconic Launch Command Center, for heightened support of SPT defect and incident triage & providing status during Major Launch Events
Responsibilities and Day-to-Day View
Drive RCA and resolution of Sev 1-4 Production defects/issues, in close coordination with GTOC, Digital Product Delivery (PO/PM, Dev, QA), Tier 1/Tier 2 Engineers, Infrastructure, Network, Chief Security Office, and 3rd-Party vendors
Representing SPT Application defect triage and status with external organizations including Iconic Launch Command Center for Major Launch Events.
Driving Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for production incidents & RCA governance
Establishing Production Quality/Reliability Service Level Objectives (SLOs) for product teams, as well as ongoing tracking, reporting & follow-ups to ensure Product teams are meeting Quality SLOs.
Preferred Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent degree
4+ years of experience with development and operations of customer-facing systems
4+ years of experience building web applications using HTML5/CSS3/Javascript
4+ years of experience in Problem Management, with good understanding of incident management & Root Cause Analysis methodology
2+ years of experience in a leadership capacity – coaching and mentoring engineers, developers
2+ years of experience working with front end frameworks such as React, Angular
2+ years of experience with server-side rendering technologies and architectures
2+ years Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) or equivalent experience
