Are you an experienced Web Application Developer who can assist us in delivering breakthrough experiences for Christian communities? Do you like to work on a variety of game changing projects, at the forefront of application development and cloud technology adoption? Are you a faithful Christian who is heartbroken over the way that college students are falling away from the faith in record numbers? If so, then we need to talk.
What You’ll Do:
As a front-end developer, you will help us build cutting edge technology in support of the Church’s mission to evangelize the world, starting with college campus ministries. This is an excellent opportunity to get in on the ground floor of the New Evangelization, an evangelization which is taking place online as much as it is in the real world. Your efforts will help us to sow the seeds for a whole new generation of online evangelization tools.
You Will:
Develop scalable applications with rich user experiences
Provide deep software development knowledge with respect to front end architecture, UX/UI design, programming, and testing
Work with a tight knit, cohesive, full-stack development team
Promote the mission of the Church, that is to build the Kingdom of God.
What You Need to Get the Job Done:
5+ years of professional front end development with an eye for design best practices.
Experience with responsive web design.
Experience in developing rich applications with HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript.
Experience in one or more relevant front-end frameworks (Vue.js – preferred, React, Angular, etc.) and test frameworks (Jest, Mocha, Jasmine, Selenium, etc)
Experience with view layout and rendering technologies (e.g., responsiveness, progressive enhancement, browser/device support).
Experience integrating front end technologies with RESTful APIs
Agile software development experience
We Will Love You If:
You are proficient in a broad range of software design approaches and common UX patterns.
You have experience with Vue.js and Nuxt/Node.js.
You have experience developing RESTful web services (Java Preferred)
You have experience with relational databases (MySQL preferred)
You know when (and when not) to use front-end software design patterns (e.g., asynchronicity, data binding, modules, MVC, objects, promises)
You have experience with Docker, Kubernetes and related Devops tooling
You have experience with continuous integration tools (e.g. GitHub Actions)
You have experience architecting, designing and programming applications in an AWS Cloud environment
You have experience architecting highly available systems that utilize load balancing, horizontal scalability and high availability
You have good communication and presentation skills
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent professional experience or military experience.
