Position : Web Designer ENTRY LEVEL

Job Description : Position Summary: The web designer supports digital marketing projects for the web, social platforms and/or email. In conjunction with the Web Developer team and other members of the Marketing team, produce digital communications that accurately reflect goals, objectives and identity of the organization in accordance with current technology standards and using the tools and framework in place within Unity.

Essential Job Functions:
Build, update, and maintain Unity.org and related websites, ensuring all follow digital best practices, such as for SEO, usability, layout, information architecture, styling, metadata, titles, text, and images and adhere to Unity branding guidelines. Create forms and other pages that involve CSS and other HTML coding.
Produce complete and accurate content for web pages, emails, social media, and other digital outlets, including formatting and reviewing content, inserting images and files, and entering metadata. Assist with wireframes, overall navigation flow, and template layout/functionality.
Generate reports on web and email performance.
Manage, organize, and prioritize multiple jobs, ensuring all assigned projects are produced on time, accurately, and to specifications. Meet aggressive deadlines and handle multiple priorities, with the ability to adapt quickly to change.
Regular and reliable attendance at the worksite and adhere to assigned schedule – this position is not a remote or telecommute position.
Adhere to all company and departmental policies and procedures per the guidebook including all safety requirements including all safety guidelines
Utilize electronic time management system to input time and attendance

Nonessential Job Functions:

Use Google Analytics to improve site performance.

Assist team members of the department on other projects, as needed.

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or a minimum of at least 1 years combined education, training and experience in Media, Publishing, Social Media, and/or Web Content Creation.

Experience:

Three years’ experience in web design and interface with overall knowledge of internet development and site maintenance.
Must have experience with HTML5, CSS, responsive web design and practices, latest UI/UX practices, and working knowledge of JavaScript and jQuery. PHP and web server knowledge a plus.
Demonstrated experience creating web and application-specific assets.
Experience developing on Drupal or equivalent CMS platform.
Experience using MailChimp and Mandrill, preferably including A/B testing.
Experience coding email communications with table based/inline CSS layouts.
Working knowledge of social media site design requirements and standards.

Computer and Software Skills:
Advanced proficiency on both PC and Macintosh platforms, as well as cross-browser compatibility and integration. Highly proficient with Adobe Creative Suite.
