Create and maintain attractive, dynamic, interactive websites and digital tools that are accessible by modern browsers and platforms and are Section 508 compliant.

This position focuses on front-end development, design and user experience and works collaboratively with another web developer, a content strategist and the rest of the Creative Services team, as well as faculty and staff from across the college, to provide information about Tyler to diverse audiences.

Position is located at the Midlothian Campus.

Special Assignments
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

KSA’s/Required Qualifications
Understanding of mass communications with emphasis on web, content management systems, accessibility, user experience, and design fundamentals. Proven work experience developing and maintaining interactive web sites.

Strong coding, design, troubleshooting, and project management skills, as well as willingness to learn new technologies, study trends and conduct research.

Proficiency in HTML, content management systems, CSS (including frameworks like Foundation and Bootstrap), JavaScript, code editors (Sublime Text/Dreamweaver), Git version control, Illustrator, and Photoshop.

Ability to work independently and in teams. Must be highly organized, detailed, customer-service oriented and have strong communications skills.

High School diploma or equivalent is required.

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technologies, or related field preferred.

Proficiency in ExpressionEngine CMS, PHP, mySQL, Microsoft IIS, Google Analytics and Tag Manager, Yarn package manager, SiteImprove accessibility tool and Sketch.
