Job Description : Digital Ink is hiring a WordPress Developer, reporting to the Founder.The WordPress Developer is responsible for building and maintaining WordPress-powered websites for Digital Ink and the company’s clients.The position is ideal for candidates who have 2-4 years of experience.This is a full-time position; location is either virtual (DMV-area candidates preferred) or in the company’s office in Takoma Park, MD.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:CUSTOM WEBSITE DEVELOPMENTCustom build WordPress-powered websites based on approved mockup designsUse internal sample theme as foundation for new website themesUse Advanced Custom Fields for content and layout managementCreate CSS styles and code HTML according to best practicesIntegrate necessary WordPress plugins and third-party systems (CRM, newsletter, etc.) into websitesWEBSITE MANAGEMENTProactively maintain and update client websites, including core WordPress software and plugin updatesImplement and manage site security initiativesMonitor Google Search Console for errors/recommendations and implement changes as necessaryManage backups through host or third-party storageWORDPRESS CONSULTINGWork with clients to troubleshoot website issues and implement new featuresWork with internal design team, Founder and Director of Marketing & Operations to build new website features and functionalityStay abreast of WordPress/web development trends and best practices to ensure clients are receiving best recommendations possibleWork with internal team to develop project timelines and deliverablesGENERAL WEB DEVELOPMENTDevelop and troubleshoot email marketing templates through MailChimpDevelop and troubleshoot interactive forms through FormAssembly, Wufoo, etc.Create HTML skins/pages using provided designsTroubleshoot and manage website hosting and domainsPROFICIENCY/KNOWLEDGE NEEDED IN:WordPressHTMLCSSjQuery/JavaScriptMobile-responsive development best practicesBasic search engine optimizationAccessibility best practicesGitAdobe Photoshop/XDJob Type: Full-timeBenefits:Flexible schedulePaid time offSchedule:Monday to FridayApplication Question(s):Are you local to the DMV area?Experience:CSS: 2 years (Preferred)WordPress: 2 years (Preferred)HTML5: 2 years (Preferred)Work Location: One location
