Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) is a cross-risk function, spanning all businesses and geographies, shaping the bank’s risk management framework, delivering against regulatory expectations and driving active and dynamic portfolio management. ERM sets, allocates and monitors risk appetite and provides analytics and recommendations to steer the strategy of the Bank and optimise its risk-return. ERM’s vision is to be an influential and forward-looking team, which acts as a trusted partner and drives transparency, consistency and insight to protect the Bank and support the franchise. ERM’s vision is to protect the Bank as the single, digitally enabled home of risk management frameworks, portfolio analytics and risk innovation.
ERM COO includes Business Management, Regulatory & Control and Change Management responsibilities. This team ensures that ERM’s organisational strategy is developed, maintained and implemented, supported by the people, process and infrastructure needed in a cost effective way. ERM COO delivers lean functional management and meets ERM’s internal and external commitments in improving the Bank’s control environment; and in contributing to technology strategy and architecture. In addition, it develops and delivers a flexible resource management scheme that helps ERM use its resources effectively and develop our people.

Your key responsibilities
Regulatory Adherence:
Analyse new regulatory developments (consultation papers and final rules) or changes to existing rules and regulations for its relevance to ERM.
Liaise with SMEs to assess the impact of relevant regulations on the bank and identify gaps, if any, in the bank’s compliance.
Coordinate risk assessments, perform QA checks (both content and format), challenge stakeholder input and clearly articulate recommendations in a timely manner.
Provide inputs for the monthly reporting process
Manage multiple deliverables at the same time and against tight timelines.
Business Continuity Management
Responsible for global ERM BCM deliverables
Conduct BCM awareness Training and Business Requirement Test across regions
Develop and analysis the BCM plan with key ERM stakeholders
Relationship management
Engage with global senior leadership and SMEs across several disciplines.
Deal independently with ad hoc queries from senior management
Your skills and experience
Education and Experience:
Relevant university degree (Master) or equivalent necessary.
Some expertise in Risk Management
Hands-on working approach with good analytical skills and strong attention to detail.
Excellent writing and communication skills, including business fluent English
Confidence in challenging the status quo and superior relationship management skills.
Ability to present information to senior management in an appropriate way (quality & format).
Ability to independently perform research into a new topic
Ability to tailor communication style to the relevant audience
Ability to manage multiple tasks or projects at once and within tight timeframes.
Proficient Microsoft Office skills, i.e. Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
Personal characteristics:
A strong communicator and facilitator, able to build excellent relationships and liaise effectively at all levels of the Bank.
A team player and a self-starter, able to work collaboratively in a global diverse team within a complex management structure and virtual team across the globe.
