Job Description : Job Title: Staff Accountant/Payroll Associate

Reports to: Finance Manager

Days/Hours: Monday – Friday 9:00 AM – 06:00 PM. Scheduling flexibility is necessary to support the team and meet the needs of the finance department and the agency.

Qualifications and Skills:

AA in Accounting or related field required. College Degree or equivalent preferred
3 years of experience in non-profit accounting and bookkeeping role
Familiarity with Abila MIP non-profit fund accounting system and Paycom system preferred
High level of knowledge of payroll, garnishment, and benefits distribution
Strong computer skills in Microsoft Excel and Word
Multitasking Abilities
Valid Florida driver’s license. Safe/Acceptable driving history. Proof of Automobile Liability Insurance.

Salary Range: Starting at $44,000 (Salary will be commensurate with experience)

Position Summary: Reporting to the Finance Manager, the position is responsible for accurate and timely recording and processing of payroll, Benefits, Sales and Cash deposit. The Staff Accountant/Payroll will also assist with grant billing, general ledger and 941 quarterly report reconciliation.

Essential Job Functions: The Staff Accountant/Payroll primary functions will be to issue employee payroll check, considering deductions and withholdings accordingly. You’ll collect payroll timesheet/PARs, prepare payroll benefits related records for grant billing purposes. You’ll contribute to various accounting tasks, including but not limited to small grant billing, payroll general ledger analysis, 941 quarterly report reconciliation and updating payroll files. To succeed in this role, you must have strong mathematical skills and knowledge of national and regional laws on payroll and taxes. This individual must also exhibit the aptitude needed to cooperate with a team while setting up a strong and abiding relationships and interactions with all other department of the agency.

Additional requirements: Employee will be required to take the Department of Children and Families (DCF) required training to maintain compliance with grant funding.
