The Tax Compliance Bureau within Michigan Department of Treasury is looking for a State Administrative Manager who has excellent leadership skills, strategic planning abilities, high ethical standards, and a positive attitude. This position manages a staff of multiple professional supervisors in a regional section who are responsible for over-seeing a staff of professional auditors who audit a multitude of taxpayers having the highest levels of complexity from multi-international businesses to the small complex businesses for tax compliance. Management of the section requires the establishment of procedures, policies, rules, and guidelines. Employee assists in the planning and directing of specific programs and departmental activities in conjunction with management staff, reviews and evaluates the audit program personnel to ensure uniformity with general guidelines, statute, judicial decisions, rules, mission, and accuracy of the tax audit program. This position works directly with the Audit Division Administrator in achieving the over-all goals and mission of the Department.

Required Education and Experience
Education
Possession of a bachelor’s degree in any major.
Experience
Note: Experience is considered professional if the job requires a bachelor’s degree.
Four years of professional experience, including two years equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level.
Alternate Education and Experience
Education level typically acquired through completion of high school and two years of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 14 level; or, one year of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 15 level, may be substituted for the education and experience requirements.

This position is eligible for remote work, up to two days per week, however selected candidate must have a safe and appropriate designated workspace or workstation for performance of work and secure and sufficient internet access of commercial cable or wireless broadband with minimum speeds of 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload.
Work must be performed in the state of Michigan. If you currently reside outside of Michigan, you must relocate to Michigan to perform the duties of this position. Relocation expenses are not reimbursed.
