Purpose & Accountabilities
The role of the Team Lead – IAPS is to actively contribute hands-on, provide expert advice, training to the staff and support effective delivery of process activities in ME/TA Teams in TAO Organization, and Manage one multiple team of engineering staff in TAO Organization. The teams provide remote support for Maintenance Execution, Turn around & related AMS processes. The TAO teams support partners from Downstream-Manufacturing, Integrated Gas & New Energies & Upstream assets & other corporate businesses/functions of Shell. The TAO teams are located across 4 locations: Chennai, Manila, Cyberjaya and Krakow.
Key accountabilities:
Technical Expertise & Active Contribution:
Facilitate technical discussions with regards to Integrated Activity Planning and Scheduling (IAPS) Operations in Very Short term (VST) / Integrated Schedules (IS), Short Term (ST), and Medium term (MT) windows.
Provide advice for resolving technical and quality issues in IAPS delivery as well as for making continuous improvements (efficiency, simplification, standardization etc.,).
Provide IAPS Process related training to all relevant staff.
Collaborate with IAPS SMEs, GPOs, Asset and P&T Technical Authorities in developing work instructions, standards, procedures etc.,
Identify opportunities for new/innovative support activities and guide the development of those.
Review the Functional Activity Plans such as Maintenance Plans, Engineering Plans, Project Plans, Utility Plans, and Subsurface activity Plans, and Develop Integrated Plans in various timespans such as Medium term (MT), Short Term (ST), and Very Short term (VST) Plans.
Develop one Single Integrated Plan, agreed with all the Stakeholders, Freeze the Plans, get approvals and Communicate to the stakeholders.
Provide integrator type role pulling together data / material and engaging in discussion with business planning teams as required.
Support in Development of comprehensive Integrated Schedules in Primavera P6 with look ahead and catch up schedules (as applicable) with optimization and allocation of the resources (man, materials & machines/tools).
Assure the Equipment Maintenance Activities are planned, scheduled and executed within Latest Allowable Finish dates, Mange Maintenance overdues and backlogs with approved mitigation measures. Assure Project activities are progressed as per the agreed Milestones.
Assign Schedule baselines, follow-up with executors, and update the activity progress in SAP / Primavera
Manage Plan Changes, Schedule breakers, based on the calculative risks.
Prepare and analyze various Planning and Scheduling Key Performance Indicators KPIs.
Support the team in developing IAP Schedules, and Milestones.
Support the team to load the prepared Plans and Schedules in SAP and related Document management systems
Support the Team of Schedulers, who Prepare and Manage Primavera IAP Schedules and Optimization
Coaching, Migration, Quality, Talent & Competence management:
Support with Deployment and Capability leads in managing various activities related to Migrations, Quality Assurance & Talent Development.
Coach the teams in writing and reviewing the work instruction of various processes and support.
Coach higher order critical thinking, brainstorming and decision-making skills to all involved. Assist to embed networking and virtual working skills to the staff.
Support the development the competency framework for IAPS work stream and ensure that it is kept up to date with developments elsewhere in Shell.
Support recruitment & onboarding efforts
Technical Leadership
Facilitate technical discussions with regards to IAPS.
Support teams in developing the IAP Schedules and milestone plans
Support the team to load the prepared Plans and Schedules in SAP and Primavera.
People Management:
Ensure the team is high performing, passionate and cohesive. Team lead may need to manage about 8-10 frontline staff.
Support competency development of the staff.
Coach engineers on technical topics like Equipment, processes and tools as well as soft skills.
Inspire and develop the staff throughout the team.
Create and foster a strong team spirit. Ensure that staff have a pleasant working environment.
Operational delivery:
Ensure that the team delivers on time, with required quality control and continuous improvement.
Perform regular quality checks.
Support the recruitment and onboarding activities.
Collaborate effectively within TAO & other teams (AME, P&T, IT, FO and other teams).
Ensure compliance:
Ensure that activities are executed in line with Shell’s policies and standards. (Data privacy/protection, HSSE&SP, DEP, AMS processes & others).
The role will be reporting to Operations Lead (OL), who in turn will be reporting to Operations Lead (OM) for respective AMS process/work stream.
Support Multiple Delivery teams and provide required expert advice to various assets in Downstream-Manufacturing, Integrated Gas & New Energies & Upstream assets & other corporate businesses/ functions
Active member of various Technical Councils, SME Networks, TA’s etc.
Managing multiple/conflicting priorities
Able to deal with a very wide range of internal & external stakeholders at different seniority levels.
Managing the conflicting priorities between quality, timely delivery & cost.
Working with complex problems, under tough/challenging timelines.
Ability to quickly learn, adapt and upskill for changing business requirements
Supporting recruitment- internal/external hiring process.
Skills & Requirements
Education & Experience:
University Degree in relevant engineering discipline with 8 plus years of work experience in Operations & Maintenance Planning & Scheduling/Major Projects Planning & Scheduling/Production Operations in Oil & Gas/ Petrochemicals or any equivalent Industries.
Experience with Integrated Activity Planning or Functional (Major Maintenance/Turnarounds/Major Capital Projects/Sub-Surface) planning & scheduling is essential.
Experience in Primavera (P6) Scheduling Tool is a must and able to run various standard and user defined reports.
Experience working with multi-discipline & multi-cultural teams in a virtual environment.
Experience of implementing change & continuous improvement projects.
Experience in SAP PM, as well as strong experience with MS Excel and MS access is desirable
Able to demonstrate in depth technical knowledge & required skill sets for the role.
Able to proactively manage stakeholder expectations and experience in working across different cultures.
