Department Description
The Institutional Technology function provides IT services to Fidelity’s Institutional Business Units located globally across UK, CE, Asia Pacific and Japan. Fidelity Institutional business is a strategic area targeted for growth over the coming years. The Institutional portfolio of projects includes a large collection of strategic initiatives as well as tactical ones to support day-to-day operations and strengthen the environment, including Client Reporting, MI Dashboards, Data API strategies, Data Virtualization, Client Analytics, etc.
Primary technologies used in these applications are: Oracle, Informatica, OBIEE, Vermillion, J2EE, etc.
The Institutional team functions under the Central Technology function, looking after the development and support of business applications that underpin our revenue, operational, investment, compliance, finance, legal, and marketing and customer service functions.
Key Accountabilities
As an Automation Test Lead, you will play a key role while working with Product Owners and Technology teams within Fidelity International to deliver a technology platform to support Fidelity’s ISS Distribution business.
You must have a passion for delivering high quality and scalable solutions with a continued focus on the customer need. You should be both willing to challenge and to be challenged on where things can be improved and are comfortable working in a diverse and global organisational model.
The successful candidate should also understand the working in an Agile environment using Agile tools and techniques, experience working with professional Scrum or Kanban, and have a good understanding of Jira and Confluence.
Experience and Qualifications Required
B.E./B.Tech/MBA/M.C.A/Any other bachelor’s Degree.
7+ years of experience in Automation testing including the automation tools-Selenium (Selenium Web Driver), TestNg, Eclipse, and preparation of automation test framework, Test Complete.
Experience in testing web-based applications and automating web services.
Hands on experience in building functional test automation suites for end user applications.
Essential Skills:
Experience in testing web-based applications and automating web services.
Hands on experience in building functional test automation suites for end user applications.
Hands on experience to manage the requirement traceability with the test cases.
Proven record of achievements in testing teams.
Knowledge of Agile software development life-cycle methodologies.
Understanding of automation test principles.
Strong automation concepts and proven experience on multiple automation tools preferably Selenium / Test Complete.
Strong SQL skills.
Hands on experience in Version Control Software: SVN / GIT / Clear case etc.
Project and Build Tools: Maven, ANT, SonarQube, Eclipse IDE, Jenkins,
Thorough understanding of test principles such as unit, smoke, functional (black box/white box), user acceptance and usability testing.
Must have worked as an established individual contributor and implemented best test practices in a complex technical environment.
A proven background and track record of working in a testing environment within financial services.
Candidate must be familiar software testing techniques, test methodologies, test automation tools and frameworks
Good knowledge of software development methodologies including agile model.
Ability to understand functional specifications and design appropriate acceptance tests.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with different levels of stakeholders in application delivery, QA and business groups
Ability to estimate and present ROI calculation for automation initiatives.
Ability to accurately log defects, escalate issues and risks and provide accurate management reporting.
Experience of working in tight deadlines in a mature ‘time-boxed’ testing environment
Be able to demonstrate consistent and good judgement of assessing severity of issues
Ability to work closely with cross functional teams
Openness to work as a part of a team engaged in development as well as production support activities.
Desirable Skills
Understanding of multi-tiered technology architecture / web, client server technologies.
Experience of object-oriented programming using languages such as Java.
Experience in any configuration management tools.
Exposure to Data Warehouse, Datamart and ODS concepts
Experience of working within either Investment Management, Wealth Management or Investment Banking organisations and broad base business process, application, and technology architecture experience
Experience with data distribution and access concepts with ability to utilise these concepts in realising a proper physical model from a conceptual one
